Thelma was the youngest of three children of John (Jack) Josiah Ecclestone (b1879 in Boyanup, WA) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Molan (b1893 in Guildford, WA). Jack (a Farmer in Dowerin, WA) and Lizzie married in 1920 following Jack's return from WWI (Private; Service No:6503). The couple settled in Dowerin where Jack was a Farmer until he retired.
Thelma was a Factory Packer in Perth WA when she enlisted in the RAAF. She was an Aircraftwoman (Service No:111809) attached to Western Area HQ when she was Discharged in February 1946. Thelma was described as 'a good type of girl, straightforward manner' (National Archives Australia).
Thelma worked as a Typist in Bunbury, WA and in March 1952 she married Henry Clifford Mousley (b1923 in Bambra, Victoria) in Victoria - Henry was a Farmer. Thelma and Henry settled in Carnamah, WA where Henry worked as a Shearer until moving to Toodyay in the early 1960s where he was a Farmer. The family moved to Collie WA in the late 1960s, where Henry worked as a Shearer before settling in Bunbury and working as a Farmer. Henry died in 1999.
