Leading Aircraftman Albert Eric Looker (Service No:127612) enlisted in the RAAF at No 1 Recruiting Centre Melbourne as an Aircraftman 1 on 5 March 1943 - mustered as Telegraphist. Promoted to Leading Aircraftman on 6 July 1944, he served in Torokina, Bougainville and Solomon Islands (1 January 1945 - 25 March 1946). LAC Looker Discharged on 27 March 1946 to re-enlist in the Interim Air Force, serving in Botu, Japan with 81 Wing HQ and 381 Squadron. LAC Looker was Discharged on 4 February 1949. Older brothers William and Reginald also served in WWII.

Albert was born in Hamilton, Victoria in 1925, youngest of seven children of David Looker (b1881 in Condah, Victoria) and Sarah Helena Wensley (b1884 in Balmoral, Victoria). David was a Boardinghouse Keeper and Coffee Palace Proprietor in 1907 when he and Sarah married in Hamillton. They lived in Hamilton and Strathkeller via Hamilton, where David worked as a Labourer until his death in 1931.

Albert started work in Hamilton as a Motor Mechanic, and in 1943 was an Optical Instrument Maker/Mechanic in Melbourne when he enlisted in the RAAF. Following his Discharge in 1949, Albert was in Hamilton in 1950 when he married Beryl Joyce Ball (b1930 in Wedderburn, Victoria). Albert and Beryl lived in Portland where Albert was a Manager before joining the Victorian Police Force in the 1950s. The couple settled in Seaforth where they raised their family and Albert was a Senior Constable - in 1982 he was awarded the National Medal. Albert died in 1994 and Beryl in 2002.
