Son of Thomas REES and Elizabeth nee MOYNAN

Husband of Francis Linan (known as Lillian) REES nee MAYNARD, Rees Avenue, Coorparoo, South Brisbane, Queensland

Mr. Evan Leslie Rees, one of Brisbane's successful master builders, died yesterday. He was a son of the late Mr. Tom Rees (a former Mayor of Brisbane, and a contractor). Mr. E.  L. Rees, was in partnership with his brother Joseph, and together they built many of Brisbane's newer buildings, including the second portion of the Municipal. Buildings in Eagle Street (Ryan House), Atcherley House, Brisbane Arcade, the Queen Street section of the Regent Theatre, and "The Worker" Newspaper offices. He was 37 years old. He leaves a widow, son and daughter. Mr. George Rees, well-known In motoring and bowling circles, is a brother.
The late Mr. Rees was actively associated with yachting and frequently cruised in Moreton Bay in his motor-boat The Valma. The funeral will leave his late residence, Shakespeare Street, Coorparoo, at 1 o'olock this afternoon for the Bulimba cemetery.
