Robert Henry Westbury was born on 23 June 1890, in Camperdown, Victoria, Australia to John Richard Westbury (29) and Mary Ann née Bonshor (29).

Robert married Sarah Ann Agatha Pegg about 1914, in Victoria, Australia. They were the parents of 6 sons and 1 daughter: Vincent, Douglas, Norman, Arthur, Hugh, Alma and John. Three of their sons added a year to their ages so that Hugh could enlist in World War II.

Robert died on 1 November 1957, in Colac, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 67, and was buried in Colac, Victoria, Australia. His descendants now abide primarily in Colac, Victoria; Port Augusta, South Australia; and Bundaberg, Queensland.
