Private William Charles Green (Service No:V72879) enlisted in the ACMF on 16 June 1942 and was attached to 8th Infantry Battalion VDC when he was Discharged on 22 June 1945.

Born in 1901 in Stawell Victoria, Bill was the eldest of twelve children of William Henry Green (b1878 at Halls Gap in the Northern Grampians in Victoria) and Clara Elizabeth Crudace (b1877 in Stawell, Victoria). William (a Miner) and Clara married in 1900 in Stawell, Victoria and by 1902 had moved with their first child Bill to Kalgoorlie - Boulder in WA. The family lived in Coolgardie, Bulong, Kanowna, Burbanks, Norseman and Kalgoorlie where William was a Miner. In 1931 William and Clara moved to Manjimup WA where William was a Farmer.

William (Bill) Charles Mallenby Green started work as a Blacksmith's Striker in Kalgoorlie WA, and was a Machine Miner in 1921 when he married Amy Alice Lee (b1898 in St Arnaud, Victoria) in Boulder. Bill and Amy settled in Boulder WA where Bill was a Machine Miner when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1942. Bill and Amy remained in Kalgoorlie - Boulder where Bill was a Miner before retiring to Perth WA. Bill died in 1977 and Amy in 1979.
