Private Donald Gourley (Service No:V390717) enlisted in the ACMF at Wangaratta, Victoria and served from 10 July 1941 to 10 October 1945. His father served in WWI, and older brother also served in the ACMF in WWII.

Don was born in Trafalgar, Victoria in 1921, youngest of two children of Alfred (Alf) James Gourley (b1882 in Poowong, Victoria) and Geraldine (Gina) Eva Freckleton (b1890 in Buln Buln, Victoria). Alf was a Labourer before enlisting in the AIF in 1916, and following his Discharge, he and Gina married in 1919 in Warragul, Victoria. They lived in Thorpedale and Greta, where they raised their family and Alf was a Farmer.

Don was working in Wangaratta as a Farmer when he enlisted in the ACMF, and in 1952 was a Farmer in Greta when he married Leila Agnes Simpson (b1925 in Moyhu, Victoria). Don and Leila settled in Greta, Moyhu where they raised their family and Don was a Farmer. Don died in 2012.
