Ted was the eldest of three children of Denis Dingwall (b1874 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Henrietta Casey (b1875 in Whorouly, Victoria). Denis (a Labourer) and Henrietta married in 1898 in Melbourne, Victoria. By the early 1900s the family had moved to Perth, WA where Denis initially worked as a Labourer before becoming a Baker.
Ted started work as an Insurance Clerk in Perth WA, spending a lot of time overseas in Calcutta and Singapore. In 1942 he was an Insurance Manager in Perth when he enlisted in the ACMF (Lance Bombadier; Service No:W47975). He was attached to 2 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps when he was Discharged.
By the early 1950s, Ted had married Joan and they lived in Dingwall, Tasmania where Ted was an Insurance Manager. By 1963 the couple had settled in Melbourne, Victoria where Ted died in 1971. Joan died in 1994.
