Youngest of four brothers who served in WWII, Private Percy Campbell Scott (Service No:W70560) served in the ACMF with 5 Battalion VDC from 16 April 1942 to 15 October 1945.
Percy was born in Bunbury, Western Australia in 1918, fifth of eight children of Eugene Henry William Scott (b1882 at Minninup via Elgin, Capel, Western Australia) and Grace Campbell Hill Forrest (b1888 in Bunbury, Western Australia). Eugene and Grace married in 1908 in Busselton, and settled at Irwin Farm via Elgin where they raised their family and Eugene was a Farmer. In 1937 Eugene died when a chip from wood he was chopping flew up and penetrated his brain. Grace remained at Irwin Farm.
Percy was a Dairy Farmer on Irwin Farm via Elgin when, in 1938, he was driving his mother, two sisters and youngest brother - Norman - from Elgin to Woodanilling wnen the car crashed into a bridge near Darkan - Norman was seriously injured and died later in hospital. In 1941 in Bunbury, Percy married Ina Beatrice Fisher (b1917 in Northam, Western Australia). Percy and Ina settled at Irwin Farm where they raised their family and Percy was a Farmer until his death in 1962. Ina died in 2003.
