Private Jack William Kinsman (Service No:V368627) served in the ACMF with 2 Battalion VDC from 16 August 1940 to 19 May 1944.
Jack was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1916, second of three children of John Abercrombie Kinsman (b1186 at Durham Lead, Victoria) and Jessie May Groves (b1892 in Woorndoo, Victoria). John (a Labourer) and Jessie married in 1913 in Melbourne, where they settled and raised their family and John was a Labourer and Factory Employee.
Jack was working in Melbourne as a Fitter and Turner for Daniel Scott Pty Ltd Engineers when he enlisted in the ACMF. In 1942 in Ararat he married Rowena Maud Hewitt (b1912 in Ararat, Victoria), and they settled in Melbourne where Jack worked as an Engineer until 1949 when the family moved to Coburg. Jack worked as a Foreman until the early 1960s when he became a Minister of Religion - Clergyman. Jack and Rowena lived in Red Hills and Katamatite where Jack was a Clergyman before retiring to Bright in late 1970s. Jack died in 1992 and Rowena in 2014.
