Add my storyBiography
Mr John Wilfred Northfield was born at woolongong, NSW in 1892, where his father conducted a milk vending business.
Three days before sailing with members of the 2nd Light Horse Brigade in 1915, he married Miss Martha Fuhrmann of Mallanganee, N.S.W.
After serving four years, which included Gallipoli and the Middle East, he returned home and due to his wife's illness he brought her to Roma, where carried out his own milk business for almost 30 years.
He was a life member of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A. and took a keen interest in its activities until he suffered ill health and was confined to a wheelchair for some years.
He was survived by his wife; Martha Northfield, three daughters; Ella Kadel, Iris Rayner and Lesley White; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren at the time of his death on October 11, 1966.
