Private Harry Cecil Green (Service No:W72482) enlisted in the ACMF on 26 August 1942 and served with 8 Battalion VDC until Demobilistaion in October 1945. Six siblings served in WWII.

Born in 1904 at Boorara in the Gldfields in WA, Harry was the third of twelve children of William Henry Green (b1872 at Halls Gap in the Northern Grampians in Victoria) and Clara Elizabeth Crudace (b1877 in Stawell, Victoria). William (a Miner) and Clara moved to the WA Goldfieds in the early 1900s. The family lived  Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie, Bulong, Kanowna, Boorara, Burbanks in the Goldfields region. William was a Miner until he and Clara moved to Manjimup WA in the late 1920s where William was a Farmer.

Harry was a Labourer and Miner in Kalgoorlie/Boulder and in 1925 married Mary (Katie) Katherine Toia (b1903 in Piemonte, Italy) - Katie arrived in Fremantle WA in 1915 on board the Omrah. Harry and Katie settled in Boulder/Kalgoorlie where Harry was a Plant Foreman (Gold Mining) when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1942. Harry died in 1951 and Katie in 1989.
