Private Albert Peter Lawrey (Sevice No:V383631) enlisted in the ACMF on 27 May 1942 and served with 7 Battalion VDC until Discharge on 10 August 1945.

Born in 1901 at Kinglake, Victoria, Albert (aka Peter) was the third of seven children of James William Lawrey (b1865 at Diamond Creek, Victoria) and Nora Marie McMahon (b1874 in Melbourne, Victoria). James (a Nurseryman and Fruit Grower) and Nora married in 1894 at Diamond Creek where they settled and raised their family and James was an Orchardist.

Peter was a Grocer in Melbourne when in 1929 he married first wife Edna Elizabeth Edmonds (b1908 in Melbourne Victoria - Edna was a Shop Assistant. Following Edna's death in 1935, Albert remarried Ione Jean Helcote Palmer (b1914 in Warrnambool, Victoria). Peter and Ione (aka Jean) settled at Nullawarra where Peter was a Storekeeper and served in the ACMF. By 1963 Peter and Jean were living at Warrnambool where Peter was a Grazier. Peter and Jean retired to Geelong where Peter died in 1987 and Jean in 2000.
