Alfred Henry Patterson was one of eleven children of Robert Patterson and Martha Jane Patterson (nee Amy) who lived at 11 Coventry Place South Melbourne Victoria.
Of five brothers in the Patterson family, four enlisted for WW1 service (Robert, Alfred, Albert and Owen) and sadly Owen Patterson died of wounds on 21 April 1917 during the Battle of Lagnicourt in Northern France.
