Private Gordon Mark Shaw (Service No:T29121) served in the ACMF from 26 January to 6 June 1942 - Woodcutter - attached to 9 Casualty Clearing Station at Discharge.
Gordon was born in Sunnyside, Tasmania in 1904, fourth of twelve children of Mark Louis Shaw (b1875 in Westbury, Tasmania) and Bertha Millicent Bramich (b1878 at Port Sorrell, Tasmania). Mark (a Labourer) and Bertha married in 1896 in Mersey, Tasmania and lived in Sunnyside and Railton, where they raised their family and Mark was a Labourer. By the mid 1920's Mark and Bertha had settled in Liena, Deloriaine, where Mark was a Farmer.
Gordon worked in Lien as a Farm Labourer, in Emu Bay and Natone as a Labourer, and in Riana via Devonport as a Sawmiller (Woodcutter) and Labourer. In 1950 he was working at Natone as a Labourer and, in 1950 in Emu Bay, married Elaine Margaret Carey (1928 in Sheffield, Tasmania). Gordon and Elaine settled in Tewkesbury, where they raised their family and Gordon was a Labourer until his death in 1960. Elaine died in 1983.
