From Gary Mitchell, Sandgate Cemetery
I placed a cross this morning, the 14th August 2022, at the unmarked grave of Stanley (Stanislaus) Charles Wanless, referred to as Fatty, 2nd A.I.F, Service No-NX28740, of 3 Scott Street, Carrington, N.S.W., who was laid to rest at Sandgate Cemetery on the 5th August 1954, age 41. CATHOLIC 2-65. 54.
Stanley’s WW2 service record has not as yet been digitised, so the only information available is born at Wickham, New South Wales on the 26th July 1913 to Charles R and Mary Agnes Wanless (AUSTIN), and enlisted at Paddington, N.S.W.
Any contact with descendants would be greatly appreciated.
Lest We Forget.
