Biography contributed by andrew bernie

His father was a medic in WW1, and died of heart failure at Gallipoli. This left the family terribly poor. two years later, at just 15, George Joined the AIF in 1917. He made it to England before his ages was discovered. He was returned to Australia in late 1918.

He again lied about his age (this time to seem younger) to again serve as a medic in WW2. An incredible life of service
