Son of Thomas Uren and Jane Uren nee Hosken od King Street, Melbourne, Victoria.
22 January 1917 - enlisted at Melbourne with the 1st Railway Unit with the rank of Corporal
24 April 1917 - transferred to the 15th Light Rail Operating Company
9 April 1918 - transferred to the 1st Light Rail Operating Company
7 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Chemnitz diembarking on 9 May 1919
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
9 January 1920 - discharged at the 3rd Military District as medically unfit due to Trench Fever
During 1933c Edgar married Margaret Jean Veal in Victoria.
