THE REV. THOMAS MCVITTIE.

At the annual congregational meeting of St.John's Presbyterian Church, Paddington, this week, the Rev. Thomas Mcvittie, who has been minister of the charge since 1925, was presented with a gift of £40 as an expression of appreciation of his services.

Mr. McVittie, who Is a native of Ayrshire, Burns County, Scotland, had a distinguished career in the Glasgow University, gaining several bursaries, and taking his M A. degree at the age of 20. He Is a minister of the Church of Scotland. Mr. Mcvittie came to Australia in 1912, and was called to the parish of Rozelle at the age of 24 years. He served as chaplain at the war for three and a half years, and attained the rank of Major Chaplain. Mr. Mcvittie takes a keen interest in sport, and believes in encouraging young people to indulge in manly recreations provided that with their sports they do not neglect their obligations to the Church.
