"With refrence to the despatch published on the 10th April, the following are mentioned for distinguished and gallant services rendered during the period of General Sir Charles Munro's command of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force - Captain Stanley Walker. "

"For Distinguished and Gallant Services and Devotion to Duty "In the Field" during the period Feb 26th to 20th and 21st September 1917"

Awarded, and gazetted, 'London Gazette', second Supplement, No. 30448 (28 December 1917); 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 57 (18 April 1918).

He served during the First World War at Egypt and Gallipoli where he was Mentioned in Dispatches for "Gallant and Distinguished services rendered during the period of General Sir Charles Munro's command of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force." Stanley served in France and Belgium with the 17th Company Australian Army Service Corps where he was once again Mentioned in Dispatches in 1917. After the war he returned to Australia on 6th April 1919 and he was discharged from the Australian Imperial Force however he remained serving with the local Forces. During the Second World War he enlisted on 26th September 1939 and he served as a Major with the 4th Employment Company till he was discharged on 20th July 1945.
