George was the fifth of twelve children of George Green (b1849 in Cork, Ireland) and Margaret (Mary) Hustler (b1852 in Pleasant Creek, Stawell, Victoria). George Snr (a Labourer) and Mary married in 1873 in Pleasant Creek and settled in Mt Rouse, Penshurst to raise their family.
George worked as a Labourer and served in WWI with the AIF (Private; Service No:647) with 13th Light Horse Regiment, 1st Anzac Army Corps Light Horse Regiment and 57th Infantry Battalion. He lived in Melbourne, Victoria and was working as a Labourer when he enlisted in the ACMF in March 1941. George was a Private (Service No:V12238) attached to 115 General Hospital when he was Discharged (Medically Unfirt) in October 1942. George died in 1945.
