Son of Edward George Ovey and Grace Ovey nee Edwards of Madeline Street, Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 24 July 1919 aboard HT Dongola disembarking on 28 August 1919

During 1924c Dudley married Edith Mary Hill in Victoria
