Ernest Argetn Meakins was the third son of Walter Joseph & Mary Meakins of Angaston.

Trained at Mitcham Camp in Adelaide South Australia

Embarked on Franconia to Plymouth England on 6.6.1916

To Rollestone Camp Salisbury Plain England

Embarked to France 16.9.1916

Served in France Killed in vicinity of Paschendale Ridge Belgium 12.10.1917

Ernest has no know grave and his name in on the Menin Gate Memorial No 29 wall Memorial Panel 146 Ypres Belgium
