Biography

Allan Allwood FRANCIS was born 16.8.1890 in Blumberg, South Australia to William FRANCIS and Louise TROTTER He enlisted on 1.7.1915, SERN: 228

He re-enlisted for service in WW2 on 2.10.1939 being discharged on 7.12.1939 SERN: S212437

He re-enlisted for Service in WW2 again on 26.7.1940 SERN: S969 (3rd Infantry training battalion)

Allan died 9.5.1941 in South Australia of Illness and was interred in the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide

 

"—Sergt. A. A. Francis— On Friday evening at Woodside camp, Sergt. Allan A. Francis, aged 50 years, attached to the 2nd training battalion, died suddenly. He had attended a camp concert, and at 10 o'clock had just retired to bed when he passed away.
