DICK George Alexander 11th Depot Battalion
 
George Dick was born in Collingwood Victoria. When he presented himself for enlistment in Maryborough on 24th May 1916, he stated he was a 31 year old farmer from Dallarnil. He named his sister in Collingwood as his next of kin. George reported to Fraser’s Hill Camp at Enoggera on 10th June where he became ill with measles. This illness led to pneumonia and George died on 2nd August. He was buried at Toowong Cemetery in Brisbane. His sister signed for a memorial plaque and scroll.
 
George had not been allocated a regimental number and he was not entitled to any service medals.
