Edward's parents were William Fogg and Jean Cochrane McCallum. Edward's father William Fogg was a well-known pioneer of the district
he was a member of the first Pine Divisional Board and also a director of the local butter factory at Samsonvale. Edward married Florence Emma Adams in 1909 and they had 3 children. Edward enlisted on 15 July 1918 at Brisbane. When Edward returned home to Australia he settled at Cedar Creek, he lived at Mt Samson until 1925 and then moved to Sandgate with his wife.
