Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Mrs. E J. Hallyburton, Young Street, Drouin, Vic.

'May the winds of Heaven blow softly on this hollowed spot'

HALLYBURTON.- In loving memory of our dear boy, Private James Gordon, who passed away at Alfred Hospital on September 14, 1915 (meningitis), aged 21 years, brother of  Rob (now on active service in France.)
And so for me there is no sting to death,
The grave has lost its victory,
It is but crossing-a little strip of sea
To the great Beyond.
To find our loved one waiting on the shore,
More beautiful, more precious than before.
—(Inserted by mother, Eva, Victoria, and grand-ma, " Leura," Longwarry East.)

HALLYBURTON.- In loving memory of our dear brother, Private James Gordon Hallyburton, who passed away at the Alfred Hospital from meningitis, September 14, 1915.
"Until the day dawns, and the shadows flee away."
-(Sisters, Annie and Isobel.)

IN MEMORIAM.
On Active Service.
HALLYBURTON.- In sweet and loving memory of Private James Gordon (Jim), who died of meningitis on September 14, 1915, in the Alfred Hospital, dearly loved son of Ellen,  brother of May, Annie, Isy, Victoria, Roe, Eva, Reece, and Bob (on active service), aged 21 years.
"Just in the bloom of manhood,
Just when his hopes were best,
He was taken away from his dear ones
To a home of eternal rest."
-(May and Zoe Olsen.)

HALLYBURTON.—In loving memory of our dear brother, James Gordon (Jim), who died in the Alfred Hospital, on September 14, 1915, of meningitis, contracted while in camp at  Albert Park.
Oh for a touch of that vanished hand,
And the sound of the voice that is still.
