Private Eric Clifford Keddell enlisted in the Army medical Corps on 4 September 1916 and was posted to Royal Park Camp, where he subsequently contracted meningitis. He was hospitalised at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where he died of his illness on 26 October 1916.
