ROBERT KEITH LLOYD was born at Lismore, New South Wales, on 11th November, 1892, the son of Mr. A. R. Lloyd, of the Millthorpe Branch of the Bank, and Mrs. Lloyd. He was educated at the Sydney Grammar School, and joined the staff of the Bank at Orange, New South Wales, on 28th September, 1910. He was transferred to Forbes as ledger-keeper, in January, 1913; to Boggabri, as teller, in November, 1914; to Mudgee, in April, 1915; to Gulgong, as ledger-keeper, in February, 1916; and again to Orange in May, 1916.
He had enlisted at Forbes in August, 1914, and acted as area officer (Area 42a, Orange District). He enlisted for active service at Orange on 7th May, 1918, and was to have embarked on the day following receipt of the news that the Armistice was signed.
