Son of Albert William Uren and Isabella Uren nee Luke of Geake Street, Coburg, Victoria formerly of Albany, WA.
12 December 1917 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 2nd General Service Reinforcements
23 August 1918 - transferred to the Engineer Details with the rank of Sapper.
27 October 1918 - transferred to the 2nd Field Squadron Engineers Mounted Division
26 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Burma disembarking on 29 August 1919
