Rowland William Davis (b1884 in Melbourne, Victoria) was the youngest of two children of David Davis (a Pawnbroker) and Alice Pipe. David died in 1886.
Rowland moved to Fremantle WA in the early 1900s where he served a plumbing apprenticeship in Fremantle. In 1908 he married Carol Daisy Victoria Hitchcock (aka Daisy; b1887 in Melbourne, Victoria) and they lived in Kalgoorlie and Perth where Rowland was a Plumber. Rowland served in WWI (Sapper; Service No:20482) and died in Perth in 1926. Son Laurie (Private; Service No:WX14754) served in WWII.
