Corporal Everett Arthur Ambrose (Service No:A5378) served with the RAAF in the Korean War. As LAC atatched to No 30 Communications Flight, he was awarded a Mention in Despatches 'for meritorious service and selfless devotion in Korea' (AWM). Corporal Ambrose was attached to No 77 (Fighter) from Squadron in 1950/1951. He continued to serve with the RAAF until the late 1950s/early1960s. Sister Doris (Aircraftwoman; Service No:113351) served in the WRAAF in WWII and father Arthur enlisted in the Army in WWII and served until the early 1960s.
Born in 1928 in Cottelsoe, Fremantle WA, Everett was the second child on Arthur Everett Ambrose (b1895 in Islington, London) and Dorothy Beatrice Netta Clarke (1899 in Essex, England). Arthur (a Draughtsman) and Dorothy married in April 1923 in Islington, London and immigrated that year, arriving in Frematle WA on board the Moreton Bay. They lived in Cottesloe and Perth where Arthur was a Leaddlight Designer before enlisting in the Australian Army - and serving through WWII until retirement in the late 1950s/early 1960s.
Everett served in Korea and in 1953 married Mary Patricia Dallow in Victoria. Following his Discharge from the RAAF in the late 1950s, Everett and Mary remained in Burke, Victoria where Everett was a Photographic Representative before moving to Kalamunda WA in the late 1960s. Everett worked as a Technician/Repairer in Kalamunda and he and Mary separated in the late 1970s. Everett retired to the Sunshine Coast in QLD and was settled in Hervey Bay when he remarried in the late 1980s to Kathleen Ruth Munt (nee Bowd; b1932 in Murgon, QLD) - Kathleen was a Widow living in Hervey Bay QLD. Everett died in 2006 and Kathleen in 2019.
