Mr Robert Nelson McEwen passed away suddenly at the Air Force Hospital, Laverton, on 24th May, at the age of 29 years. Born at Clydebank, Scotland, deceased was well-known, and was bandmaster of the Salvation Army Corps. He was a craftsman employed by R.A.A. F., and leaves a widow to mourn her loss. At the Salvation Army Hall a service was held by Major Daddow. A full Air Force funeral was conducted with the firing party at the graveside, and the Salvation Army Band sounded the Last Post. There was a very large collection of floral tributes. Nelson Bros. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
