Dan Stewart was born at Mount Perry, North Burnett. When Dan presented himself for enlistment in Maryborough on 7th June 1916, he stated he was a stockman of Degilbo, aged 30. Dan travelled to Enoggera one month later and was placed into the 11th Depot Battalion at Fraser’s Hill Camp. He contracted measles which then turned into pneumonia.
