Enlisted 1st King Edwards Horse 6 August 1915.
Arrived France 17 July 1916.
3rd Troop B Squadron
During the defence of Vieille Chapelle, Huits Maisons and Fosse Bridgeheads 9, 10, 11 April 1918 he was declared Missing in Action and confirmed Prisoner of War and repatriated 19 November 1918.
Injured while Prisoner of War 4 July 1918. - Lacerated Hands (Severe).
Discharged 22 June 1919.
Repatriated to Australia in December 1918.
On return to Australia was Station Overseer and Manager, Minnie Downs and Macfarlane Downs, Queensland.
