Enlisted 24 February 1917 27th Reinforcements N.Z.E.F.
On Friday last Mr. Neil Anderson received word that his only son, Private Harry Anderson, died at sea on 28th July last. Deceased was the eldest of the family and enlisted with the New Zealand forces from Auckland. He was 38 years of age, and was born in Sydney. Spending his boyhood days at Gosford, Harry went to West Australia in the gold boom days, and stayed there five years. Returning home, he subsequently decided to go to New Zealand, where he remained for about 14 years prior to enlisting. His respected father has been a resident of Gosford for 41 years.
