Son of Henry Barkley MACLURE and Janet Thomasina (Ina) nee MASSIE of Hay, New South Wales.

Went to England to enlist. Father lived on a farm near Hay, NSW. Two brothers were doctors

MACLURE.- In sad but loving remembrance of our dear old "Gor" (Lieutenant Gordon Stanley Maclure), killed in action, Rouen, France, June 16, 1916. ("Fernleigh.")
His father established the Gordon S. Maclure Scholarship at Hay High School in October 1919. The This is a scholarship donated by Mr. H.B. Maclure, of Hay, as a memorial to his son, the late Gordon Stanley Malure. They sum donated (£1800) is invested in War Loan bonds, and yields an income of £90 per annum. The Maclure scholarship in tenable at the University for a period not exceeding five years. It is open for competition at the leaving certificte examinatin to all boys who have passed to the Hay High School from any primary or other school within the present bounds of the Hay Inspectoral District and covers (a) fees for attendance at lectures; (b) cost of necessary text-books; (c) cost of board and lodging while in attendance at Universty; (d) any other allowance that may from time to time be determined by the trustees.
