Daughter of Henry FITZSIMMONS and Mary nee CROKER
Educated at Kyneton Convent of Mercy, Margaret trained at Women's Hospital Melbourne and Kyenton District Hospital fro 1889-1892. She was Matron of Ayr Hospital in North Queensland for 12 months, principal nursing in Enteric & Tropical Diseases.
Prior to enlisting Margaret owned the "Ensor Private Hospital" Victoria Parade, East Melbourne.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the PARTNERSHIP lately subsisting between us, the under-signed Minnie Oldfield and Margaret Lucy May Fitzsimons, carrying on the business of a private hospital at "Ensor," Victoria Parade, East Melbourne has been DISSOLVED by mutual consent as from the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and three. All debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Margaret Lucy May Fitzsimons who will continue to carry on the said business at "Ensor," Victoria-parade, East Melbourne.
As witness our hands this 29th day of June 1903.

'Miss Margaret Fitzsimons has been a staff nurse at the Australian Voluntary Hospital for four months.
She is a thoroughly competent nurse and most attentive and good to her patients. As the Hospital is Closing her services can no longer be retained. I have much pleasure in recommending her'

Margaret passed away on 13.6.1952. Her remains were buried at Tylden Cemetery.
