Son of the late Robert Ring Young and Alice Mary Young; husband of Alice May Young, of "Homestead," 22, Crediton Rd., Kensal Rise, London, England.
NOT MY WILL LORD BUT THINE BE DONE
Born in Sale, Charles was the second of four sons of Richard and Alice Young of Dennington, and was in Canada when war broke out, and joined the Canadian Engineers as 540129 Spr. C S R Young, 11th Field Company Canadian Engineers. His next of kin was his wife Mrs. Alice May YOUNG nee BLUNT of Kensal Rise, London, England who he had married whilst in London. He was transferred to HQ Canadian Corps.
Charles died at Douai, France on the 23rd November 1918, 12 days after the Armistice was signed at the age of 28 from the effects of wounds caused by a German delayed action mine.
