236860 WO1 David Beau Thompson enlisted into Australian Regular Army on 16 Sept 1987.

Private Thompson was corps allocated to RACT.

Corps transferred to RACMP in March 1989.

Deployed to Somalia as a Corporal in 1992 on Operation Solace

Deployed to Butterworth, Malaysia in 1998

Deployed to East Timor as a Sergeant in 1999 as part of 3 Bde MP Platoon on INTERFET on Operation Warden.

Deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as a Warrant Officer Class Two as the Company Sergeant Major (CSM) of SECDET 6 in Baghdad.

Was WIA on 19 January 2005, when a suicide truck bomb drove into Australian Embassy in Baghdad.

Succesfully completed Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) course in 2005 and promoted to Warrant Officer Class One.
