Ormond was born as Ormond Victor George McANDREW in Creswick, Victoria in 1882
His parents were Alexander McANDREW & Magdaline GILES
He enlisted in Melbourne on 24th November, 1914 & embarked on the ship HMAT Berrima on 29th April, 1915 from Melbourne with the 13th Company of the Field Bakeries & Butchery (Army Service Corps)
Ormond died of Pneumonia on 23rd Octrober, 1918 at the Queen Alexandra Military Hospital in Millbank, England and is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery
He was given a full Military funeral with a bugler playing the Last Post
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & on his parents headstone at Creswick Cemetery in Victoria
