Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
The son of James Andrew and Marion Brown, of Umbiram, Queensland.
Jack Brown joined the 49th Battalion during August 1917 and would see much hard fighting in Belgium later in the year.
The 49th Battalion assisted in the repulse of a large German attack on 5 April 1918 launching a critical counter-attack late in the afternoon at Dernancourt.
Jack Brown was seen to be hit and killed by a bullet during the advance. His body was later lost.
