    Son of John Irwin Darbyshire and M. Katrina Darbyshire, of Port Augusta, South Australia.

    Joined the Artillery and fought at Gallipoli, where he was wounded.  He returned home on sick leave.  He joined again and was sent to France.  Killed soon after rejoining his unit.  Jack left school early and was for several years in the Malay States.
