War Veteran Dies in Poverty.
A man names Samuel Brown, well known about town, and a veteran of the Boer War and Great War, was found dead in a hut on Monday. He had lived in squalid circumstances in a shed, his bunk consisting of two bags and no bed clothes. There was no furniture in the room. When found, deceased was almost naked, and had died in his sleep. There are no suspicious circumstances. He was 65 years of age, and came from Scotland.
