Arrived in Australia aged 28 years. Mother's address Lyon House, Tynemouth, Cumberland, England
16 February 1916 - Taken on strength of 55 Battalion at Tel el Kebir
19 June 1916 - Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force
29 June 1916 - Disembarked Marseilles
10 July 1916 - Promoted Lance Corporal

Report at the scene
Informant states that on the night of 29th July in an attack or raid on Lille he helped to carry Wilson's body off the battlefield and to bury him. Wilson as buried in the Australian Cemetery at Sailly. Informant got Wilson's pocket book and gave it to officer of the company who sent it to Wilson's people. Informant did not actually see Wilson killed.'
