William Frank Stewart Regimental number 9055 embarked for overseas service in November 1915 as a Driver with the 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column

 

As a Bombardier with the 4th Australian Field Artillery Brigade in August 1916 he was awarded the Military Medal for gallantry under enemy fire.

 

He was commissioned as a Lieutenant with the Australian Flying Corps and Returned to Australia in July 1919

 

During WW2 he served in the RAAF as a Flying Officer - Service Number 3972 - discharging in September 1947
