RECTOR OP HOLY TRINITY, DULWICH HILL.
The Rev. F. W. Tugwell, who was recently appointed rector of Holy Trinity, Dulwich Hill, in succession to the Bishop of Central Tanganyika (Dr. G. A. Chambers) will be inducted on Tuesday evening next by Archdeacon Boyce, Rural Dean of West Sydney.
Mr. Tugwell, who commenced his career in the Sydney Technical College, graduated by evening study at Sydney University in 1909. From Sydney University he proceeded to Cambridge, where he went through a course of theological studies in Ridley Hall. He was ordained by the late Bishop Binge in the Southwark Cathedral, and received a title in the old Parish Church of St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey. Returning to Australia, Mr. Tugwell joined the staff of St. Clement's church., Marrickville, under Archdeacon Martin. After the outbreak of war, he was appointed a chaplain in the Liverpool Camp, and later proceeded to France. Since the war he has been rector of St. Peter's, Woolloomooloo, St. Andrew's, Llsmore, and St. John's, Bishopthorpe, Glebe. The new rector of Holy Trinity comes of well-known church families. His grandfather was the late Dean Pownall, of Goulburn, and his uncle was the Right Rev. Herbert Tugwell, Bishop of Equatorial Africa.
