Dear Minn
We are leaving here during the next week, our destination unknown. ¼ of the infantry are already aboard ship. Long before this reaches you our next scene of operations will have been published in Australia. We have been here now 13 weeks, a change will be most welcome. We surmise that we will be occupied somewhere in Turkey. Thanks very much for your nice long letter. I congratulate you on your snake – killing, saw it in the “Gazette”. The weather here is cold at night particularly so on the desert, and very hot during the day. We have been frequently out marching and camping all night, so we know something about night operations.
Our regards to Morpeth.
With love to all,
Harry & Rupert
We are both keeping very fit.
