Noel Norbert Obre MYERS was born in East Guildford, Perth, Western Australia on 5th October 1899

His parents were William Obre MYERS & Catherine Hannah BETTS

He enlisted on 16th February, 1916 against the wishes of his parents as he was still at school & underage and embarked with the 28th Infantry Battalion, 12th reinforcements on the 17th April, 1916 from Fremantle on the ship HMAT Aeneas

Noel was listed as missing in action after the battle of Flers and later as killed in action on 3rd November, 1916 - he was buried in "The Maze & Blue Cut" in Guedecourt in France and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial

Two of his brothers also served in WW1  & WW2

1. Lancelot Obre MYERS  ( SN 1447) - returned to Australia in 1917

He also served in WW2 (SN W6686) in the Volunteer Defence Force, 1 Perth Battalion

2. Oswald Louis MYERS ( SN3468) - served in the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment - returned to Australia in 1919

He also served in WW2  (SN 29106) & was discharged in 1942
