Born to parents, Mary Ellen Smith and William Henry Taylor.
Brother also served in WW1, 4271 Pte Patrick Ambrose Taylor.
His name was on the new Longreach Honour Board in 1928 (original 1920 one was burnt in a fire in the Shire Hall).
