Frank (Franklin) Hepburn BISHOP was born on 14th September, 1881 in Daylesford, Victoria
His parents were William BISHOP and Margaret Susan TILLEY
He married Ella May FIELD in 1911 in Victoria and had two children, Nancy Gwendoline & Ralph Montague
Frank had previous service with the Volunteer New Zealand Rifles for 3 years before enlisted on 11th December, 1917 with the Australian Army - he was with the 13th Light Horse Regiment, 23rd Reinforcements - Unit embarked from Sydney on board HMAT Wiltshire on 2nd February, 1918
He was invalided back to Australia on 1st March, 1918 on the ship Wiltshire and disembarked 2nd February , 1918 & admitted to Macleod Sanitorium on 22nd March, 1918 - he was transferred to Austin Hospital Repatriation Ward on 1st July, 1919 - discharged from Army on 24th October, 1918
Frank died on 17th September, 1919 at Austin Hospital, Heidleberg, Victoria from Pulmonary Consumption (TB) and is buried in Warringal Cemetery (Heidleberg, Victoria) He is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial
He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
